You can ask for support anytime up until you reach the age of 26.
What this program is about
This program is rooted in Equity.
This means, if you’ve been in care of the Minister or can’t safely live at home as determined by an assessment; you deserve the same opportunities, choices, and support as any other young person.
Supporting your transition to adulthood
New Brunswick adopted the Equitable Standards for Transitions to Adulthood. These are guidelines to make sure you are ready and supported when moving into adult life.
The Youth Engagement and Young Adult Services program focuses on 5 key areas to help you thrive:
- Supportive Environment – Making sure you have safe, stable support around you
- Life Skills Development – Building skills like budgeting, cooking, and planning for your future
- Empowerment & Independence – Helping you make your own decisions and feel confident
